미술, 디자인 그리고 건축, 인테리어 분야를 이끄는 명문 예술학교
플랫의 디자인 전공들은 모두 순수미술을 바탕으로 하여 디자인 컨셉을 구상하도록 가르친다. '비디오 아트'의 창시자 고 백남준 선생은 1998년 한인으로는 처음으로 플랫에서 명예박사학위를 수여받기도 했다.
저소득 성적우수 학생들에게 무료 학비
우수 학생들에게는 다양한 장학금을 제공하며, 저소득층 성적우수 학생들에게 4년간 무료로 학비를 제공하는 HEOP(Higher Education Opportunity Program) 란 프로그램을 운영한다. 다양한 종류의 장학금이 제공되어 프랫에 다니는 재학생들은 평균 5명 중 3명은 장학금 혜택을 받으면서 수업을 받을 수 있다고 한다.
