CAL ARTS(California institute of the Arts)는 1961년 Walt and Roy Disney가 설립한 예술 종합학교이다. 전문적이고 실무적인 수업이 진행되며, 창조성과 실험정신을 바탕으로 시각, 공연예술을 함께 배울 수 있는 학교이다.
Art Center와 더불어 미국 서부를 대표하는 아트스쿨이며, Art, Film, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Theater, Animation 프로그램은 대학 평가 때마다 높은 평가를 받고 있다.

CAL ARTS는 다른 아트스쿨과는 달리 1학년부터 전공 집중 수업을 진행한다. 따라서 지원하는 학생들의 수준도 상당히 높은 편이며 전공 경험이 있는 학생들이 대부분이다.
CAL ARTS에는 유학생이 전체 학생의 8% 정도이며, 평균연령은 대학 신입생이 22.2세, 대학원생은 27.7세에 이르고 있어 이미 대학을 졸업한 학생이나 직장 경력자들이 많이 지원하고 있다.
LA의 영화, 영상부분에 많은 졸업생들이 활동하고 있다. 영화감독 팀 버튼(Tim Burton); 브래드 버드 (Brad Bird); ‘스타워즈’의 로버트 발락 (Robert Blalock) 특수효과 감독, 픽사의 존 레스터 (John Lasseter) 대표 등이 학교의 동문이다.
